How to Use Healing Poems to Feel Better

healing wordsDo healing poems really work? When people hear the word “healing” what usually comes to their minds is modern medicine, and rightly so. Modern medicine is amazing; it has singlehandedly improved the lifespan not only of the human species, but of animal species as well.  However, modern medicine lacks one thing, and that is the ability to heal an aching heart, a wounded soul and fractured spirit. Sadly, there are people who try to use modern medicine to heal their emotional, mental and spiritual problems with devastating consequences.  Healing poems and poetry can do what modern medicines can.

Brokenhearted people are often looking for means to calm the emotional pain that they feel through medicines like anti-depressants and other similar drugs that affect the brain and are often addictive. These medicines only manipulate your physical body to numb the pain, dampen the emotion and sedate your brain, but do not actually solve the root of the illness, which is emotional, mental or spiritual in nature.  Since these medicines only ease the symptoms and not actually heal emotional pains, those who depend on them for temporary relief will be trapped on using them and even get addicted to them unless the real problem is solved.

Healing Words

Words are powerful. Any writer and speaker know that you can use words to either elevate a person or crush them to the ground. You can use words to build someone or use it to destroy them. Healing poems use words to reach the inner sanctum of a person’s being and heal the brokenness within with soothing syllables and meanings that inspire, heal, and encourage the weary soul.

Only words can reach the human soul and touch it. One of the things you have to understand when you want to console a depressed person is that they usually only need someone to talk to. That is because only through words can one person encourage another.

These poems are inspirational poetry written by people who have mastered the use of words to create an art of communicating thoughts through imagery, rhythm, sounds and rhymes so that the words become soothing, more powerful and more pleasing to hear.  It has been said that you can compress 5 volumes of self-help books into a single poetry. That could be true, because poetry is pure expression, not instruction.  It directly touches the heart instead of going through the mind first.

Affirmations for Healing

Affirmations for Healing

10 Daily Affirmations for Healing

Little happy girlAt one point in our lives, we get sick. Disease and pain attack our physical bodies. While our bodies weaken naturally with aging, we have the power to delay the onset of age-related diseases. More so, we have the power to protect our bodies from diseases caused by lifestyle and health choices, environmental elements, and other factors that we can control.

Most of the time, our bodies become depleted of strength and we tend to give in to illness because of what goes on inside our minds. When the threat of illness and the demands of life overwhelm us, it is easy to become consumed by fear and worry. We fear the pain it would cause us and our loved ones. We fear the worst that might happen to us should the disease progress. The fear and doubts eat away at our soul, robbing us of hope and faith in ourselves and in the higher being who supports us.

Affirmations for Healing and Preventing Illness

The key to healing and good health starts from the thoughts and decisions we make from within. We need to purify our thoughts and fill our spirit with positive energy to give our body the inner strength and support it needs.

To aid you in the process of building a healthy mind and a strong spirit for your physical healing and well-being, here are affirmations for healing by various inspirational authors to read and recite every day.

Types of Prayers

1. Smile, breathe and go slowly. – Thich Nhat Hanh

No matter what physical challenges you are going through, remember to “smile, breathe, and go slowly,” Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh reminds us. When you smile, you are conditioning your body to welcome positive energy. Breathing deeply helps you calm down. We are reminded to slow down and rest, especially when our body needs it. Not slowing down causes stress to become unmanageable, and this has been linked to serious diseases like cancer and heart disease.

2. I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it. – Maya Angelou

Intercessory prayer is when you pray not for yourself but for someone who is in dire situation. Basically you are asking for God to intercede with humanly events and divinely intervene for the safety and well-being of another. Again, intercessory prayer is practiced in most monotheistic religion all over the  world.

3. The cure for pain is in the pain – Rumi

Pain and illness are a part of life. With this affirmation for healing, Rumi says you can find the cure for pain in the pain because it serves a purpose—to help you know and appreciate yourself more. Through pain, you are also able to learn lessons that make you wiser and stronger. By learning from your pain, you will no longer see it as a problem, but as a blessing that teaches you valuable lessons about life.

4. Whatever is in me is stronger than what is out there to defeat me.― Caroline Myss

This affirmation by Caroline Myss is a reminder that we are stronger than any disease or illness out there. We have the power not just to survive, but also to thrive despite illness or even physical handicap.

5. I am realistic – I expect miracles. Wayne W. Dyer

Wayne Dyer tells us that miracles exist and are a part of reality. Expect miracles to happen because they’re real. You just need to have faith and do your part to see miracles unfolding in your life. Treat each day as a miracle. The fact that you are still breathing and waking up each day are miracles that we should not take for granted.

6. Everything I need now is here. Wayne W. Dyer

Everything you need is available to you. The universe provides all the resources you need for healing—nature’s gifts, competent doctors, nurturing relationships, and the courage to face whatever challenges you are going through. You just need to tap into these resources to begin your process of healing.

7. I will greet this day with love in my heart. – OG Mandino

There is nothing that love can’t defeat. Face each day with love and you will find it easier to see the good in your life. Love yourself more. Be patient with yourself. Appreciate the people around you who have always been there to support you. Love the difficult areas of your life because by loving and embracing these, the sufferings become easier to bear.

8. I am blessed with an incredible family and wonderful friends. – Dr. Carmen Harra

Remember that you are never alone in your life journey. Don’t be afraid to ask help from your family and friends. They care about you and they want to support you. You are also a source of joy and love for them.

9. I now free myself from destructive fears and doubts. – Louise Hay

Illness feeds on fears and doubts. Once you entertain and dwell on the things you fear, they will start to turn into reality. The universe gives you what you invite through your thoughts and beliefs. Free yourself from worries and fill your mind with positive thoughts. Choose to find hope and to look at any situation in a positive way. Don’t allow yourself to give up unless you have tried every possible way to solve the problem.

10. The healing power of God is working in me right now. Every day I get better and better in every way. – Joyce Meyer

Have faith that a higher and all-powerful being who is in control of the whole universe is also mightier than any illness. Trust that you will get better each day because a higher being provides everything you need to overcome any challenge that comes your way, including illness and disease.

Any time you experience physical, mental, or spiritual hardships, recite these 10 affirmations for healing. These declarations not only promote healing, but also empower you to make decisions that will change your life for the better.

Spiritual Healing Prayers

Spiritual Healing Prayers

What to Include in Your Spiritual Healing Prayers

woman prayingWe are living in a frightening world—terrorism, diseases of varying kinds, stress related illness, shootings, crimes and many more are threatening our very lives every single day. Watching the news, especially when there are mass shootings, is enough to fracture our delicate spirits and drive us to paranoia, depression, even psychosis. Every time we step out of our homes, we have this nagging fear on the back of our heads asking whether we can step back inside our houses alive or not.  Such maddening thoughts can drive us to a total nervous breakdown.

While there is no way we can change the world around us, there is a way to at least ease the fear. Nature has bestowed the power of faith upon us.  Spiritual healing prayers are the way to tap into that power.

Spiritual Healing

Many people in this age are spiritually broken. We see a lot of people suffering from depression, suffering from grief, suffering from paranoia, suffering from mental breakdowns and suffering from hopelessness. These people need some comfort, some dash of hope and something to hold on to. They can benefit from spiritual healing prayers.

Modern medicine would want to have us believe that every ailment a human being experiences comes from physical, bodily malfunction. Even  mental problems, emotional problems, grief, anxiety—all originate from the physical body according to medicine.  That is why many doctors and scientists reject the idea of spiritual healing because they think all illnesses are physical. They have limited their vision to only the tangible world, rejecting the fact that there is a spiritual world.

Spiritual healing prayers are one of the oldest and most ancient ways to fight off many of the spiritual maladies that plague human beings from the prehistoric period until today. Prayer is the expression of faith, the belief that there is a powerful force that can help us in our time of need.  Some of you may scoff at this idea, but the fact is you know what I am talking about. Like when you are scared because you think someone is following you and you feel relief when you find a police, that is how it works, except in a grander scale.

When you pray, you put your  life in the trust of someone powerful enough even to create the world. Even people who are not religious or has been living as atheist can attest that spiritual healing prayers help calm them, just because of that little percent hope in their minds that there is actually someone powerful out there who can help them when doctors and scientists can’t. Yes there is, in everyone, that little drop of hope for a creator even in the most hardened unbeliever.

The idea of having someone to trust, someone to believe in is important for human beings because that is the only way we can be positive about our dangerous world.

One of the causes of depression, paranoia, anxiety and other mental and emotional maladies is fear, which can only be defeated by faith.

Types of Prayers

There are many different kinds of prayers, which fit different situations and purposes. Supplications, intercessory prayers, prayer for forgiveness , the prayer of binding and loosing, and the prayer of faith.

1. Supplication prayer

The prayer of supplication is when you humble yourself towards God for his mercy. Supplication is present in all religions. It is the clearest example of the servant-master between God and his follower. In supplication, we ask for mercy despite our weaknesses. When you know someone who is ridden with guilt, you can help ease his spirit with a prayer of supplication.

2. Intercessory prayer

Intercessory prayer is when you pray not for yourself but for someone who is in dire situation. Basically you are asking for God to intercede with humanly events and divinely intervene for the safety and well-being of another. Again, intercessory prayer is practiced in most monotheistic religion all over the  world.

3. Spiritual healing Prayers for forgiveness

Sometimes a person feels guilty about something, and it causes his spirit to break. He or she may begin to feel depressed, paranoid, and anxious. You can help the person get the guilt feelings out by helping her say a prayer of forgiveness.

4. The prayer of binding and loosing

The prayer of binding and loosing is a powerful prayer to help someone break free from demonic possessions, hexes, and bad luck. Even if you don’t believe on these things, there may be among your friends who feel they are victims of these maladies. You can ease their minds with a prayer of binding and loosing.

5. The prayer of commitment

The prayer of commitment is when you commit someone to God so that he or she may be safe from harm. Usually done when a friend is leaving to a dangerous place, the prayer of commitment eases their mind and strengthens their faith.

Prayer is for everyone

man bows down to pray God before a crossYou may be an atheist, you may be agnostic,  and you may think all these talk about healing power of prayer is questionable, but you can still choose to pray for yourself and for someone simply because it feels good. Inside ever human heart is the need to believe in someone powerful, someone that we can run to when we have nowhere to go. Apart from the supernatural, prayer works because it helps calm a person. It helps a person let go of worries and fears. It gives people the courage to fight.

There are a lot of things science cab’t explain, despite its claim of being the only source of all knowledge.  The power of prayer and faith is one of those things.  Prayer is free and many people testify to its effectiveness. So if you have a friend whom you think can benefit from your prayer, pray for that person today. Martin Luther King once said, “Pray, and let God worry.”

Spiritual Healing Meditation

Spiritual Healing Meditation

Spiritual Healing Meditation for Total Wellness

woman meditationWe are living in a world where people are plagued by various illnesses and diseases. One of the main causes for the ailments we experience in our modern world is stress, which is caused by the fast-paced life we live, the pressures at work, financial problems and many more. Heart problems, depression, kidney diseases and other organ failures are due to the stress the average human being struggles with every single day. Spiritual healing meditation is a spiritual approach that we should try to help us better manage stress.

Science claims to have the solution through medicines made of chemicals—as expected. While it is true that science has done us many good, It has also done us a lot of bad. Science makes production of goods easier, but it also pollutes the air in effect. Science give us smartphones and laptops and in effect occupy so much of our time that we tend to spend lesser time with our loved ones. Science makes us know more about our physical world, but it can make us forget that we’re also spiritual beings.

What is spiritual healing meditation?

Meditation as a way of relieving stress is not very scientific, but it works.  Modern medicine can’t fully explain its effectiveness but the benefits are evident.  Ancients have been practicing meditations through the ages for various reasons.

Some meditate for enlightenment, others meditate for calm, while others meditate to achieve a higher state of consciousness. Whatever the reasons are, people in the past meditate to tap into their spiritual energy for power that goes beyond the physical to heal and energize the mind, body, and spirit. This is what spiritual healing meditation aims to achieve.

Unfortunately, for many centuries, western society has become so fixated on science and technology and the claim that science has all the answer and solution to human problems, effectively burying spiritual healing under the label of unscientific.

But recently, though leaders and inspirational people have broken through the façade of science and started to research and practice ancient wisdom and start a movement we now call as the new age movement. Today, people benefit from rediscovered ancient wisdom. People who spend at least 30 minutes a day to meditate are healthier, happier and calmer. Meditation fills you with peace and removes stress from your system.

Benefits of spiritual healing meditation

Meditation is a perfect activity to spend a few minutes of your day.  While it is an exercise of the mind and spirit, it greatly benefits your body too, because even science can’t deny that many of the dangerous ailments our generation faces today comes from stress. So here are some of the benefits you get from spiritual healing meditation:

  • meditation manPeace of mind is one of the reasons people meditate. Meditation includes letting go of the things that bother you and focus on positive thoughts. This gives your mind the chance to rest.
  • Problem solving is another reason why other people meditate. One of the reasons why many people find it hard to solve their problems is because the worry and stress cloud their mind and blur their vision of the solution. Meditation helps by  eliminating the worries and stress to help a person think about his problem clearly.
  • Good health is another benefit of meditation. Stress and mental chaos are big causes of illness in modern age.  Meditation relieves stress, therefore keeping stress-related diseases away from people who meditate.
  • To get in touch with their spiritual side, many people turn to meditation. Meditation helps you connect with your inner self and help you acknowledge the person within.
  • To achieve a higher level of consciousness. People who meditate to find wisdom tap not only into their brain energy, but also their spiritual energy to find answers about life and achieve a higher level understanding of themselves and the world.

Learn meditation

Many places, temple and schools teach spiritual healing meditation for free. Make a quick online search for Taoist or Buddhist temples in your area and you will find the best place to learn to meditate. You can also follow online tutorials and instructions especially from YouTube. Also having a personal trainer is best, YouTube video tutorials work great too.

Meditation videos with meditative music

If you don’t have the time to allot for a short meditation because you are busy or because you think it is boring, then at least try looking for online meditation videos with meditative music. All the video will ask you to do is put on a headphone, sit straight and close your eyes while focusing on the sound.  There are many types you can choose. There is meditation for healing, for peace of mind, for strength, for encouragement and many more, all with the most relaxing music you would ever hear.

Why try meditation for spiritual healing?

Our world is fast-paced and stressful. It is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed with the demands of life. You wake up still sleepy, prepare yourself for work, and drive through terrible traffic, race against everyone for a place in the elevator and you get scolded by your boss for being late or inefficient at work. Not only that, the burden of work also burns your peace of mind and calmness of heart—office politics, deadlines and many more can burn you out and cause heart problems.

Just ten minutes of meditation a day will give you that much needed rest from mental turmoil and stress. That is the beauty of meditation, you heal your spirit and you heal your body all at the same time. People who meditate attract positive energy and luck, which are important in maintaining your overall health and well-being.  You will notice many people who meditate daily are able to withstand stress better. They don’t get mad easily and can smile through problems. Their inner calm shines through.

Try spiritual healing meditation and see how it can change your life for the better.

Essential Oils for Healing

Essential Oils for Healing

Life is Better With the Use of Essential Oils for Healing

Healing OilsIf balance in every aspect is your goal in life then, essential oils for healing should be part and parcel of your daily existence. In a nutshell, essential oils are naturally derived or extracted oils that may give off fragrance to achieve a certain effect.

The great thing about essential oils, especially the high grades ones, is that these are concentrated in every drop. Needless to say, one small quantity truly goes a long way whether it is to soothe, to relax, or to moisturize any part of your body. In most cases, people use essential oils also for its healing effects.

Why go for essential oils for healing?

For starters, essential oils provide all the goodness without the bad side effects of most daily personal and home care products.

Health-wise, this is the best way to take care of one’s body and peace of mind, knowing that whatever it is that goes onto one’s skin (and into it as it gets absorbed through the pores) will make things even better. Definitely, this kind of effect comes at a steeper price. But as mentioned, essential oils are concentrated so that means spending less money in the long run.

Think of it as getting the very essence of a plant, all of its power and potency, then placing it directly unto your skin – this surely cannot come close to the experience (or lack thereof) that traditional products bring. It’s paying for quality all the way when you go for essential oils.

How do you use essential oils for healing?

Essential oils can be enjoyed via the following means:

1. Ingestion

Some essential oils can be used for cooking, baking, and can be mixed with salad dressings to give it more body and help it emulsify. In some cases, essential oils can also be ingested as dietary supplements. The good thing about essential oils is that its consistency is made to be easily used by the body and does not have to exert extra effort in breaking it down further for the body to benefit from it.

It pays to remember that when ingesting essential oils is that, there is a need to follow strictly the recommended amount of serving when following a recipe or a specific health regimen. Otherwise, enjoy it with your favorite smoothies, blended drinks, and even a drop for your coffee or tea! You will immediately feel the difference versus using highly processed oils that are already devoid of any trace of nutritional value and feel sustained by the quality of the essential oil you use as you enjoy your food.

2. Direct application

As it is most often used for, essential oils as a moisturizing agent is smart. Among all ages, those who concerned with aging stands to benefit the most as most essential oils are thicker. This is also perfect for those who love long and deep massages. Instead of using harmful mineral oils that simply block pores and cause pimples and blackheads, essential oils help the skin heal and get healthier from months of stress because of going out, long work hours, and drinking alcoholic beverages.

Incense sticksRemember though to avoid the delicate and sensitive eye area when applying essential oils on the face. It may sting and since it’s not exactly water soluble, it may take more time to take it off. Same goes with the genital area. But unless otherwise specified, you can use essential oils for healing to help ease the painful itchiness of skin diseases such as psoriasis, foot fungal infections, allergic reactions, and to speed up the healing of scabbed wounds to prevent scarring. Just be careful when it comes to open and deep cuts or wounds.

You can also take advantage of the essential oil in fortifying the effects of your existing beauty products. For example, you can add a drop or two when using your lotion for a more skin fortifying experience. Of course, it would be best to have a natural or organic lotion to start with to prevent any reactions. If you have face balms that you want to penetrate deeper into your skin overnight, applying a thin layer after a thorough washing makes your balm penetrate your skin faster. What the essential oil does is help pull the face balm into your pores for a suppler and younger looking skin upon waking.

If you are lucky enough to be blessed with normal skin, essential oils can also be used as a primer before makeup. This saves your skin from the harsh and harmful effects of polymers and silicones and of course makes you look dewy the whole day!

3. Air and odor management

Love scents? Then essential oils are right for you. Instead of using aerosol type kind of air fresheners, there are essential oils that you can put on a burner and put on for around 20 minutes for the scent to dissipate; perfect for getting out the smell from the kitchen after cooking fish or prepping the room for bedtime.

Which essential oil is right for you?

orangeOrange

Thanks to its citrus calming scent, this can be placed in a roll on and applied directly to the skin when feeling overwhelmed or dizzy. It can also be massaged on the stomach when feeling pained.

Tea leavesTea Tree

This is amazing for cleaning and disinfecting mops or rags naturally for the house.

Lavender OilLavender

A drop on your pillowcase can bring you direct to dream land. It can also be used in the wash mixed with the water of your last laundry load for sweet smelling sheets.

RosemaryRosemary

If you cooking some Italian pasta or roast beef, dropping some on your dish will instantly make it mouthwatering.

Unlike modern medicine, which heals the body physically, healing crystals work with the energy of the human body or chakra to turn it into healing energy that heals many kinds of illnesses.

The Lost Knowledge

Science is great; it has helped make our physical existence easier, more enjoyable, and more comfortable. Science is the study of our physical world and it has done great things especially in the field of medicine.

However, science can only study what human beings can observe through our senses. But in the past, people believed that there was another dimension to our existence—a spiritual one. There was a time when the study of science goes hand in hand with the study of the spiritual realm. Hundreds of years later, science has convinced our forebearers that there is only one realm, the physical one. The spiritual ream is nonexistent. This belief made science the most powerful force in the world when it comes to knowledge.

Spiritual knowledge is buried underground with very few people studying it. Our modern world has lost a lot of healing knowledge that could have helped us in the topsy-turvy, maddening world we are living in today. Fortunately, there are a few left. Chinese acupuncture is perhaps one of the most popular alternative healing methods available in the world that deals with manipulating the body’s chakra to heal bodily ailments. Then there is also crystal healing.

The Theory Behind Crystal Healing

Crystal healing is based on the knowledge that crystals attract and allow positive healing energy to stream to the body and also serves as a gateway for negative energy that causes illnesses to leave the body.

Crystals have different properties. They present different benefits, from helping you manage stress and become more creative to attracting love, wealth, and peace into your life. Many crystals are known to heal different ailments, including physical, spiritual and mental problems. Based on a person’s birthdate, certain gems are also said to bring a lot of positive energy to the individual.

Ailments Beyond the Body

While we all think of illnesses as bodily problems, many of them actually root from emotional and mental problems. In fact, depression is considered an actual medical condition of the mind that may end in suicide. But because modern medicine based itself on modern science, it tends to treat illnesses of the physically. This is the reason we have anti-depressants, stimulants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotic drugs and other medicines to manipulate the brain to produce chemicals that temporarily treat the symptoms but not the real disease, with devastating consequences.

This dependence on modern science on mental and emotional diseases has been causing a lot of problems Anti-depressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers and others  are addictive and  have been known to do more damage than good to people who take them. These medicines are also known to have lots of side effects.

Mental illness needs treatment beyond the physical body; psychological treatment is one of the treatments that work to actually solve the root of mental problems. But it is not the only one, many alternative treatments have shown a lot of promise to actually give  people suffering from mental illness with  a better future—homeopathy, aromatherapy, and healing crystals are said to work as well.

Famous Crystal Healing Stones Quote by Garry Hopkins

Enlightenment begins by getting acquainted with your inner voice or your higher self. The dialogue experienced in this process leads to a more comfortable, better-focused lifestyle. Over time this relationship blossoms into a higher and more efficient form of Self-Management. With practice, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and physical manifestations merge into a more harmonious state. This state of being allows for a softer, more gentile approach to life that not only benefits the individual, but the community as a whole.
